AGRE Collects 10,000th DNA Sample
The Autism Genetic Resource Exchange (AGRE) has reached a significant milestone this month, having collected its 10,000th DNA sample from families with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). AGRE represents the world's largest private repository of clinical and genetic information for families affected with an ASD.
Books for Newly Diagnosed Families
Recently, we asked our Facebook community, "What books about autism do you think are most helpful for newly diagnosed families?" We received nearly 300 responses; here are suggestions that we chose to pass along to you.
Toys"R"Us, Canada Kicks Off Fundraising Campaign
Toys"R"Us, Canada has launched its inaugural fundraising campaign to benefit Autism Speaks Canada, continuing through Friday, April 30. Toys"R"Us stores will offer customers an Autism Speaks puzzle piece in exchange for a $1 donation. Monetary donations will also be collected online at Toysrus.ca. All funds raised will go to Autism Speaks Canada.
